OVERVIEW OF READER FUNCTIONS
Readers are able to view items in lists and document libraries as well as pages in the intranet.

The Agency Home Page and each Department Home Page consist of “Web parts”, such as Daily News, Employee Directory, Office Calendar as well as document libraries and lists. 

  1. You can identify a part by the title bar which contains the name of that part and a down arrow, as shown at the right. 
  2. These parts will be displayed as minimized (only the title bar showing) or open in a specially designed view to fit on that Home Page.   Click the down arrow to change the view from minimized to restored or view versa.
    WARNING:  Be very careful not to close the Web part or you may need assistance from the administrator in order to reopen it!
  3. Open any Web part in full view by clicking directly on the name of the title bar.
  4. Open any item within the part by clicking directly on its corresponding link.
  5. Click on the plus sign to the left of each heading to expand the selection.  Click on the minus sign to collapse back to the heading only.

Each Departmental Home Page contains a Quick Launch bar, as shown at the left, that displays frequently-used lists and documents.  Your intranet Webmaster or System Administrator will set this up for you.
