By exporting your list to Excel, you can take advantage of the rich set of list features and formatting
options in Excel. After exporting the list to Excel, you can choose whether to keep it linked to the
AgencyCentral list.
Note: In order to export a list to Excel from AgencyCentral, you must have Excel 2003 installed on
the computer you are using to view the list.
- From the Full View screen, click on the Export to spreadsheet
option in the Actions menu.
- The File Download window will open as shown here

- Click on Open
- Microsoft Excel will open
- The Opening Query window will appear
- Click on Open
- If no workbook is open, the list is inserted into a new worksheet.
If a workbook is open, the Import Data window will appear.
Select one of the following options: — To insert the list in the active
worksheet, click Existing worksheet.
— In the worksheet, click the cell where you want to place the upper-left
corner of the list and click on OK.
- After exporting the list to an Excel spreadsheet, you can use the link between the Excel list and the
AgencyCentral list:

To synchronize the AgencyCentral list with changes you make to the Excel list, click on Data > List >
Sychronize List

To discard changes to the Excel list and re-import the list from the AgencyCentral list, click on Data
> List > Discard Changes and Refresh

To remove the link between the Excel list and the AgencyCentral list, click on Data > List > Unlink

Note: The supported list data types are text, currency, dates, numbers, and hyperlinks. If the
Excel list that is linked to a AgencyCentral list uses other data types, synchronizing the lists may create
inconsistencies between the lists.

SAVING THE QUERY FOR LATER USE The export process creates a query that can be
saved for later use. By doing this, you can run the query later and update the list data in Excel as the
AgencyCentral list changes.
- From the Full View screen, click on the Export to spreadsheet
option in the Actions menu.
- The File Download window will open
- Click on Save
- The Save As window will appear
- In the File Name field, type the name of your query.
- Click on Save
To run the saved query, locate the file in Windows Explorer and double-click it. |
